Angelic Hinton was 36 years old when she was first diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, three days after completing the Vancouver, BC Half Marathon. Within a month, she had surgery to remove the tumor and was preparing for chemo, all while trying to keep up with her two young children and husband. Angelic reports that treatment has been hard, but she has been blessed with a great support system as well as great doctors.
Angelic has been treated at Providence Hospital, SeattleCancer Care Alliance, and University of Washington Medical Center. The most important thing that has helped her fight colon cancer has been”having a great support system and fabulous doctors.” When asked what she thinks others can learn from her experience, Angelic wrote “I would tell people to not let the cancer define who you are.”
